Egypt, Hurghada trail riding.

Hii! Welcome back!

I just came back from my holiday in Egypt, Hurghada.

I wouldn't  tell you about this trip if it didn't involve horses and trail riding!

Of course we had an amazing vacation in an absolute amazing resort.

Let me know if you want the details and a story about this resort!

It was an all inclusive resort and I have a lot tell.

Alright, lets dive straight in to my trail ride experience.

During this vacation I wasn't planning to do a trail ride but after a few days I really wanted to know what it was like to ride in the dessert.

Let me tell you a bit about the company I found on facebook.

The name of this company is Horse riding Hurghada and they provide different kind of trail rides through the dessert or rides to the Red sea.

This company is all for rehabilitate neglected horses and they also rescue abused donkeys and abandoned dogs and cats.

I also looked for a company that is more than only a touristic attraction. I prefer a company that does more than riding. In Egypt it was saving animals from horrible situations.

I was in contact with a woman named Charlotte. She was amazing and so kind. She replied really fast and after some information the ride was booked for 2 days later.

She arranged a taxi from my resort to the stables and also back to the resort after the ride. This was very helpful for me.

I really wanted to see Charlotte but when i was at the stables unfortunately she wasn't there.

What about Stella?

A boy named Yakov was waiting for me and introduced me to a horse named Stella.

She is beautiful. And I could tell there was a story behind her. She looked calm but powerful.

After I asked Yakov what her story was he told me that they found Stella at a dumpster eating garbage, metal and plastic.

This broke me hart..

They took her home to the stables and started taking care of here. After quite some time she became the horse she now is. Because of eating the metal and garbage she lost all her front teeth.. But she can still eat and they also have special food for her.

After the story Yakov told me I knew Stella would be safe to ride, I could see it in her eyes. She came back from that horrible place and found her peace with these people. She could be trusted.

The ride.

I booked a 3 hour dessert ride and fortunately for me I was the only one that day!

After tacking up the horses me and Yakov went on our way.

Yakov was kind and easy going. He is a bit younger than me and we had a lot to talk about. He told me his background story and how life is in Egypt. After some talking and walking we decided to do the first trotting and gallop.

I gave him my phone and he told me he would make pictures and videos along the way.

Gallop in dessert, Hurghada

Just look at her! She is fast and strong.. Real horse power.

Regardless how strong she was I never felt unsafe.

We run with the wind and it was amazing.

The dessert was different from I expected it to be. I think if you book the trip to the mountains you have a better experience of the dessert.

After an hour or two we came across wild dogs. At first this was a bit scary but we had 2 dogs with us as well.

In the beginning I just thought that they came along for fun but that is not true... They come with you to protect you. The wild dogs did no harm but they are just protecting the land. They bark very loud en they follow you until you are out of their territory. The 2 dogs that came along with us where Jack and Bruno. When we walked with the wild dogs Jack and Bruno would walk around our horses to protect us.

When the ride was almost over we witnessed a beautiful sun set !

It was just like a fairy tale.

I think these pictures say enough!

I am happy to share my experience and I definitely recommend this company and ride!

Love,
